  3. I remember you were worried about it being louder than your Miltek set up and I said it was quieter. Jeff brought a meter to a meet and tested Mikes and my set up and TD system was quieter.

Midlands Breakfast Meet - 10th February

Unfortunately I am still not well enough to come to the meet this morning. Have a good breakfast and meet.

Midlands Breakfast Meet - 10th February

There will be a few of us with different systems and combinations of manifolds with different air filters. I have Tuning Developments Equal Length Manifold with Milltek Overpipe and Tuning Developments resonated System. TD’s systems are very good and made by JP for them and a lot of people are now switching over to them.

Midlands Breakfast Meet - 10th February

Put me down as missed lots of events and hardly used GT since I have been off
  7. I cannot comment on 4.88 as do not know anybody who has had it fitted but 4.67 works fine and you would see the change. Mike has MFactory 4.67 listed on his website and I have not had any problems with mine and would do this mod first as it makes a big difference. You will notice a slight wine as it’s a semi helical cut gear but it’s not intrusive. Have a chat with Mike as he knows my car and can advise you.
  8. TD did my auto last year and had it a couple of times to get the map right for auto’s. Only 3 maps, one for economy/service, one for road and last one for sharper throttle for track. We did find the car bogged down on full throttle below 2,000 rev’s and Mike managed to dial it out as best they could (I have to use hand controls so can’t keep foot on brake and plant foot on throttle). This is with there EL manifold and full resonated system apart from Milltek overpipe and very happy with results and ten times better than previous remap and system. I have also had rear diff ratio changed from 4.1 to 4.67 which makes a big difference to the way the car drives and would recommend as the first mod to an auto. It lifts the revs in each gear and makes cruising on motorway a lot better and only drop a few mpg.

    Shropshire, Snow, and stuck BMWs

I have a BMW 1 series xDrive and for snow and off road you turn off traction control which BMW recommend. I have not been stuck in mud (I work in building industry and on site a lot) and had no issues in the snow. I had Continental winter tyres on my previous Beemer and they worked really well with no problems. Might pop out and try snow Mode in GT but tyres on wheelchair don’t grip to get to it lol!

    Wheel Advice

I agree with Kev and might be worth going to some club meets so see how cars sit/look before you buy. lots of pics on the forum of meets as well to get some ideas. I run TSW Nurburgring 17x8 et 35 which are spun forged with 225 Advan 105’s fitted. I liked the look of them and were cheaper than Rays etc at the time. MSW are made by OZ are nice option if on more of a budget.

    Brake upgrades - discs/pads?

Litre is enough and had my fluid changed at recent service/mot and had been in for couple of years with no problems. SRF comes in litre bottles so initially looks mega expensive but not that much more when you need two bottles of 500 ml from other brands. At the end of the day we’re only talking of about £20 more than other brands

    Brake upgrades - discs/pads?

Lauren, ask a Richard how much he can get Castrol SRF for, it’s worth it and comes in litre bottle and won’t need bleeding or topping up after events. If your spending a lot of money on the upgrade then a few more pounds won’t hurt and you will have a great set up.

    Brake upgrades - discs/pads?

I use Castrol SRF as it’s higest wet boiling point of 270 which is higher than most of the other makes dry boiling point. It’s expensive though but shopping around you can get it for mid £40 per litre. Used Castrol bike racing and kept with it. Opie Oils have a good range of manufactures with specs and prices. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-450-car-brake-fluid-clutch-fluid.aspx

    Brake upgrades - discs/pads?

I have had no issues with DS2500 and run braided hoses with Castrol SRF. As you know I need a lot of feel with my brakes and had no problems on or off track but AP set up looks good and very tempting.

Link to EBC website might be of interest as they list various combinations of disc and pads. https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/toyota/gt86/2.0-(UK-Spec)-2012-/55382
