Remove the cover and hammer out the ding will be the extent of it. The tank itself isn't leaking.

What happens when you run over a large stone? Aye that's not bad but then... New front pipe required then Prop shaft - lucky Fuel tank - very lucky

This kit could still be used on a stock engine though - you don't have to have a built engine to run this kit so don't limit a potential sale by saying 'recommended'

Ohlins packaging problems! (Note Apex fixed after some miscommunication)
Lee replied to a topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Any pictures of the packaging? And damage? You haven't done yourself a favour by leaving it almost 1 year until you opened the box. Apex / ohlins will not know how or when they were damaged as a result, in their eyes you could have been throwing the box about for the past year. So unfortunately, good luck with that. -

Ok - dont have 'fun' on track and explore the limits bearing in mind knockhill / cadwell dont really have the space to learn how the car behaves like that. Or - hold on and spin, the slip angle was too much too fast to keep hands on wheel. Or - if you want to drive like that book a drift day. Not interested

Had another trackday yesterday - this time it was an MLR day at Croft - first time I've driven it and it drives a lot different to how it looks on videos - good track though.

My car will always be forsale and will remain used properly with new modifications until it either sells or goes full retard. As it is now it is unsold and I'm in a premier inn in darlington as have a trackday at croft tomorrow. Mark has also sent me an updated map

GT86 Turbo Kit & BRZ Turbo Kit from Tuning Developments
Lee replied to Mike@TD.co.uk's topic in Tuning Developments
Looks a really nice kit :thumbup1: Nice to see some 'home brewed' kits coming out in the UK Is it still a maf tune? if so wheres the maf sensor? or has it been converted to speed density? -
The actual hole behind the 'vent cover' is actually very small, it would require a fair bit of cutting and welding to open it up properly

When we fitted an AP pedal box to our race car we lost ABS and servo assistance - trust me when I say that losing both of these was not an issue for me personally. Brake was very easy to modulate on the pedal. One issue to be mindful of is using the correct means of linking your accelerator pedal to the throttle body. First off we tried a linkage to the standard mini pedal - this didnt work out for us but might do for you - im not sure. We had a linear potentiometer extra so made up a linkage for that: We werent too happy as there wasnt a 'failsafe' with this set up. If you were to brake something at the wrong time the throttle could potentially be stuck at 100% open. In the end we settled on a celesco string pot: And this is it mounted: If the string was to snap the throttle would 'fail' in the zero position.

For Sale - 13 plate GT86 Manual Sat Nav
Lee replied to Tweedbean's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Cars
R99's? -
For your first day and in your location I would suggest going to bedford autodrome - large open circuit with plenty run off. Insurance is not covered in the cost of a trackday and insurance is purely optional and its a minefield with the cover you can get. If someone hits you for example you are likely not covered for example. I would say 90+% of people dont bother with trackday insurance.

2012 62 Toyota GT86 < 30,000 miles (working offshore just now so will confirm exact mileage when I'm home) First MOT due December 2015. Usual Toyota gt86 spec, following modifications: HKS V2 Supercharger kit fitted with 43mm restrictor mapped by Mark @ Abbey Motorsports on ECUTEK, 300bhp Abbey Motorsports IAT kit K&N Panel filter HKS Decat Manifold Cobra Overpipe HKS Catted front pipe HKS legamax sports premium cat back Mishimito 19 Row oil cooler with thermostatic sandwich plate TRD Oil Filter Millers CFS 5W-40 Oil replaced < 2000 miles ago KW Clubsport Coilovers Whiteline Roll centre adjusters Whiteline anti bump steer kit Whiteline Camber bolts Whilteline Caster kit SPL Titanium Rear control arms Front AP Racing big brake kit with 2 piece J hook discs Ferodo DS2500 pads all round Rota Titan 17x9" ET42 wheels Nankang NS2R tyres in 235/40R17 Stock wheels with winter tyres included Gearbox, brake and diff oils replaced last summer. Car has been used on track and has always performed flawlessly. Exhaust system is very quiet and not at all intrusive pootling around or at motorway speeds. Bad points: Some gravel rash / light kerbing on the rota wheels Small ding in passenger door Stress crack on windscreen - windscreen that replaced a stone chipped screen developed a stress crack after fitting, autoglass haven’t yet been able to fix this due to lack of stock (it’s a warranty case with them - will be replaced soon) Price: £21,500 The car obviously owes me a lot more than this, but I feel above is a fair price. I'm in no rush to sell and will happily keep the car and further develop it if it doesnt go. The only reason I am considering selling is due to building a house and it will help free up some cash. Interested buyers can be collected from Aberdeen / Inverness airports or Keith train station.

Which ratios did you end up going with?
-
Good job on the foglight housing - very neat.
-
Yep - I havent tried multiple tyres on the 86 yet for direct comparison purposed like you. But my old car (Nige with the Blue / white mini you spoke to at brands TA) went 2 seconds quicker in the final after changing the 595s out to 3 year old worn v70a's.
-
Yeah I know - I just mentioned it as I assumed he was thinking about the NS2's because of the NS2R's rep. I do - no complaints with them yet (see below) I have noticed a lot of tyre roar from them on most surfaces though Not comparable outright grip wise to a V70a, R888, dg03 etc etc but I rate them higher than the 595rs's. They have also lasted a really really well (6 trackdays so far plus 6k road miles atleast)
-
Dont confuse the NS2-R with the NS2, both completely different. the 'R' is build from scratch as a motorsport biased tyre i.e. its not a road tyre construction with a sticky compound added.

If you have no concerns with the drained oil, excess debris etc then I wouldnt worry about 'flushing' so much providing you are using the same oil or compatible oils. I changed from millers 0w-20 to 5w-40 and didnt bother with flushing the oil cooler. No harm done.
