Making a frame to rotate the car to be able to stitch the underside of the chassis?
-
which tyres are they? and size?

+1 on the boot floor, makes the inside look much nicer and 'finished' *if you want me to remove these pics since its your thread let me know. as you can see it went through various incarnations for cooling reasons. But a nice bit of alloy looks good in the back.

He - Jarvis - is yep. Brilliant breed of dog, he's grown to be a bit bigger than an average frenchie (13.7kg) and his figure is more athletic, unlike his owners
-
when he was just a pup this was the perfect size and shape

I'm not a fan either.

Took a poor video to try and capture the sound of the exhaust. Didn't turn out great. If you are looking for a very quiet (in car) free flowing full exhaust system then I highly recommend this set up. https://youtu.be/3_s3aF0lu2U

I fitted hks cat less manifold and catted front pipe today, also ordered an overripe from cobra so fitted that too. Happy to report the car is still very quiet Boost will definitely add a bit of noise to the car but I can't see it being too bad. Pleased with my choice.

Was at knockhill again on Saturday, quite a damp day. And a small video with a spin at the end http://youtu.be/6eTwrVIaUPY Still waiting on manifold and front pipe to arrive, and not fitted the SC yet

Square set up is easier as you can rotate tyres. Tyre width on a given wheel width plays a bigger difference given the same tyre - slight 'stretch' is better than a tyre too wide for the rim. e.g. 235 will feel better than a 255 on a 9" rim on certain tyres.

Dont fill your hopes up too much or set high expectations for the test drive. You will find the engine feels quite gutless coming from mini's, and you dont appreciate the car in the fullest with a salesman sat next to you. The sounds generator sounds very odd on the first couple drives, now I dont notice it. Everything else is pretty good, interior quality isnt as good as mini either. I still prefer the gt86 to my purple mini though.

It can be adjusted with an 8mm (iirc) socket. No biggie

There is benefit after a certain point. If the exhaust is too small, then there is pressure in the exhaust system that the engine has to work against. The SC is spinning at a set rpm and will deliver the same amount of air, due to a restriction on the back side (read less flow) the air on the inlet side gets backed up more and thus leads to slightly higher inlet manifold pressure, which means the charger is working slightly harder (compressing more) which will lead to raised inlet temps which hurts efficiency. At what power level this happens at depends of a lot of factors. I've blown 400hp of air through a 2.25" exhaust (it was completely straight) which was past the choking limit as the boost was much higher than 'normal' in the inlet. At 280hp a bendy pretty much oem 2.25 system had no issues.
-
Noise, mainly. I don't have a turbo in the exhaust pipe to quieten things down. For the power goal of around 350hp I don't think it will hurt performance too much, may cause marginally higher boost pressure in the inlet.

It's 2.5, the front pipe (not arrived yet) has a high flow cat in it, the manifold has no cat so I'll just be using 1 high flow cat. In the pic is a resonator and the two silencers. I chose this rear system for its quietness - with the amount of air blowing through it I can't imagine it being overly sedate.

Fitting myself, Mark is going to send me a base map then I will drive down to him for a proper tune, won't be fitting for 7 weeks or so, only home 2 more weeks then I'm away for 4. Most likely going to open up the restrictor plate on the lathe and have Mark supply injectors and pump. Excited.

Ver niace! Cat back arrived, just waiting on manifold and front pipe

Hope you are not in a hurry to sell at that price. Is the wheel alignment adding £300 to the price? Good luck with the sale etc but I believe you would be better selling the parts individually to get anywhere near that sort of money and even then it will be a struggle.

Just a quick hello from me. Owned a gt86 for a few months now and slowly started to play with it, will post in the pictures section I guess as there doesn't seem to be a 'projects' section? Lee

I used to, but after seeing my video I decided for the next track day to leave it forward and didnt have an issue. I find if I am sat in the car not moving I feel the helmet touching the headrest - when driving though I personally have no issue.

Excellent Nige - thanks. Nice little detail on the inlet port I never knew about with the 'bump' before the valve stem

Inlet and exhaust ports of the head? Rockers / valve springs / cams?
