Yep a manual. It only raises the rpm by approx 300 rpm. Not noticeable in 6th. On the motorway the extra torque is great for overtaking. No need to drop down to press on.
-
Sorry it's a bit off topic but how much did fitting the final drive cost? I'd budget for a full days labour at your garage of choice. If it comes in less then take it as a bonus.
-
It's worth considering changing the final drive too. Made a world of difference to mine.

Sorry to dig this up. I've got the Ecutek cable so would just need a licence. How would I go about getting or mapping it as described?
-
I've never used it before until I got this car. It seems to work well. It's invisible and I've not seen any sign of corrosion which you can't ask for more really. I want to get the car up on a ramp at some stage and do the underneath of the car.
-
No criticism mate. Mine was really bad due to the previous owner, it was baked on and full of dirt. I wanted it stripped bare and a fresh start. Even now it needs another go to get rid of it all. I then used the ACF50 at the end to protect some of the metal bits.

Follow this guide and you can't go wrong. http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/caring-for-modern-engines.html ACF 50 is a protectant not a cleaner. It may shift the gunk but you'll still have to use a degreaser to get rid of it all.

How to fill the arches without ruining the handling?
Foulsmell replied to Nicebiscuit's topic in Modifications
I think the actual wheel design is a factor too. Wheels that have a flat or concave face look to me as though they fill better than the convex type like on Jamie-gt86's car. But wheel design is all about personal taste. -

Definitely the right size. In the 71/2 18" they only make the 40 & 50 offset. Maybe it's the lowered cars that need more offset to fill them as the arch is closer an exaggerates the difference. Or because they are 18"s I think most get 17". Dunno??? -
As the title says. Just ordered a silicon intake tube. seller:mishimoto-trader

I think so. That's with stock suspension too. Handling is still the same. Just a little more effort needed to get sideways but still progressive. -

Cheers mate. I fitted mine the other day. They fit a treat don't they. [emoji4]

Leather. I test drove both versions and didn't have any problems during the test drives. I can only conclude that it is now a seat setup position or my elderly legs are causing me trouble. [emoji20] I have two positions. More laid back for longer journeys and more upright for spirited driving. The bite is quit high in our cars maybe it's that. Does your left leg feel worse?
-
Do you find your thighs aren't fully on the seat? I adjusted my driving position last night (reclined the seat more) and tried slightly raising the seat (any more and my head touches the roof). Not tried driving it yet in this position, but hopefully some improvement when I do tomorrow. Have you got cloth or leather? I found the leather ones to be more supportive.

I don't understand people who complain about things like this. Test drive? That's what they are for. I'm 6'3" no issues. -
No Shell garages near me. I went on a 5 mile trip yesterday to where I thought one was, only to find out it was Esso. So my choices are either Esso, Tesco, Sainsbury or Morrisons. [emoji20] Might not be the best but nothing wrong Tesco Momentum.

I've just had a little fiddle with mine and I much prefer it sheathed in black rubber.

Tried these tyres from a Lego police bike. Great fit and they are shallow so don't rub on the head unit. http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/252134332164

Awesome idea. I'm having difficulty twisting my tiny knob. [emoji4]

Oh Bugger I thought I'd got rid of most of that, now the airbox is gone it's left a new area to clean. Please take pity, I'll try harder in future [emoji4] R222 works really well and it's kind to the engine. Looks lovely inside though. What tyre combination are you on?
