Where do you get your map done mate?
-
They must make power on a stock car as the Cosworth stage one guaranties 10bhp on what's virtually stock car.
-
Is there any correlation between mileage and power? Like the vtec engines when they loosen up. Lauren has a lot of miles on hers I think. Don't know about the others.
-
A proper remap should be done on both dyno and road. There doesn't seem to be many who do this for the 86.
-
I had my civic tuned without any bolt ons for around 12 months. No increase in peak bhp but the mid range was improved and vtec point lowered buy 1200 revs. Felt really nice afterwards but I suppose each application will differ on results.

Baring in mind I've had the full Milltek system fitted at the same time. Car feels easier to drive, smoother gear changes (extra torque must help). The real difference I found was 3rd 4th 5th gears. They just keep pulling instead of that feeling that they are gasping. More drivability on the motorway due to the extra torque making overtaking etc a lot easier and a more relaxing drive as a result. 1st & 2nd are by no means tyre shredders and are easily controllable. I'm just waiting for some dry weather to give it the full test on my usual test route but so far I'm very happy with the results. It now feels a lot more power wise like my mates 350z but with more revs. No need to ring it's neck to get a shift on. Still do though. [emoji4]

Journey to the garage and on the way back following the FD fitted. Same route. Same speed. Same MPG. It's only 3.5k revs higher. Noise levels at motorway speeds are no more than I'd expect. To test your system just go 3.5k revs higher.
-
Around 21ft/lbs. should be noticeable on a stock car.
-
I'm getting Mfactory 4.67 FD fitted tomorrow so I will be able to report back on Tuesday when I pick it up. I have a stock manual 86 but getting Milltek primary system fitted while the exhaust is off.

I got some rectangle ones from ASDA. £2 each. Do the job till spring.
-
Cool. Works a treat.
-
Looks a good product. What's the longevity like? If I had a red 86 it would have to be a wax to give it the deep wet look.

I followed this guide and it works perfectly. http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/caring-for-modern-engines.html

Next job green gunk removal from the engine bay.

Always like these threads. Thanks Rob. I always use a chemical fallout and tar remover before claying, did you? -
Just to keep in touch with the commoners. Yawn.

Supagard on a used car - worth it?
Foulsmell replied to Mark_Swaddle's topic in Cleaning & Detailing
It's not worth it on a new one never mind a used car. Save your money and buy a good quality wax/sealant for a fraction of the price. -
Depends what colour it is too. My White is tougher than my old type r in black. As Rob said once it's corrected it's all about good cleaning practice. Snow foam, 2 buckets, merino mitt, protection etc

It's errr like a joke!
-
It's seems to be the reserve of the Vauxhall owner to de-badge. Either that or they just fall off because of regret and apathy.
-
Lovely looking car. You do realise if you de-badge it people will think it's a Vauxhall. [emoji4]

And then us [emoji4] Chill out. It will get sorted. Think of the money you'll save running an Aygo for a week.

On reading this it seems that the Japanese reliability reputation has been proven as only your car has coughed up this fault. On a more serious note I hope you get it sorted. [emoji106]
