Hi all, im Dave from Lincolnshire got a black 86, had it a couple of months and still furiously trying to adapt and get used to it as came from a 320d coupe so a far different daily driver! Hoping once I'm used to the different way you have to drive it ill fall in love with it

I know theres threads for this already but has anyone had it recently as i remember seeing Toyota were releasing a technical response to dealers on it? My nearside rear is full of condensation and fogged up on inside and not clearing So far I've pretty much experienced all of the common faults on GT, Chirpy engine, squeaky brakes, rattles and wind noise and I've got the last one with the lights lol!
-
Haha its like a cool feature light
-
Mines got about 1cm of water in the bottom now, not good
-
Especially if I'm paying £300+ for the service anyway lol
-
I thought thats what they'd do, ill get it sorted next month with service.
-
My offside rear is squealing really bad, defo getting it sorted at service next month i hope its covered by warranty

Defo recommend gummy pfledge, used it on my rocco, bimmer coupe and the gt and always helps plus stops squeaks! -
How long do you plan to keep your 86/BRZ?
Toyobaru replied to griffinnn's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Starting to really click with the car now, might be keeping it longer than i first thought -
Cool fingers crossed you'll have it back soon

I appreciate theres a few threads about fuel etc but i was wandering from everyones experience how they've got on with 95 ron fuel? Ive only run mine on V power so far but the garage is a long way from my house and i go past a gulf station every day but have held back from using it as paranoid the 95 ron would cause problems and make the torque dip even more noticeable? One of my main re-adjustments to a petrol car is the weekly fill up i now need to do as opposed to every 3 weeks in last car so the gulf garage is very tempting but I've just not given in yet!
-
Yeh im gonna stick with the v power me thinks
-
Thanks everyone, I'm sure ill adapt, i remember feeling the same when i went from my scirocco tsi to the diesel as you just have to drive diesels a totally different way (lazily haha). Love the looks, ethos and fact it has a 5 year warranty!!
-
Bit gutting i know mate but the main thing is your ok, the car will get fixed before you know it
-
Err yeh defo, my thoughts entirely
-
I too came from a BMW mate and no there isn't much on the GT in terms of car display on the dash or stereo, I'm still not used to having no steering wheel audio controls lol
-
Love the black bit on the front bumper looks very mean
-
Could not drive past without saying yellow!
Toyobaru replied to gregg's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
I like it, yellow suits the extreme nature of the car -
Best county is Norfolk mate but I'm currently living in Lincoln
-
On the days i drive it when roads are quiet its unlike anything I've ever driven and I'm more than in love its the best thing ever! On the morning commute however on twisty hilly roads at 50-60 the torque dip seems apparent massively and I'm always in the wrong gear etc, defo a driver education issue at the mo, I'm getting used to it tho

Im really undecided on how long to keep it, i love the looks and days when i can drive it as intended but the commute to work sat at 50 all the way it isn't the best car so I'm torn, ill give it a year i reckon and see then. Someone mentioned the 4 series gran coupe, i too am very tempted but far too expensive at the mo!
